Dr. Kayla Mackey
Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine
Meet our Acupuncturist
Dr. Kayla completed a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Central Florida in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Psychology. She worked as a Behavior Therapist with a focus on adolescents with Autism. She was introduced to Acupuncture during this time and instantly knew she would pursue it as a career after witnessing it’s positive effects.
She went on to complete a Master’s of Science degree in Oriental Medicine and Bachelor’s of Science degree in Professional Health Studies from Florida College of Integrative Medicine. She is a Board Certified Acupuncture Physician and Chinese Herbalist.
From an early age, she knew there were alternative and complementary options to modern day healthcare. She witnessed chronic disease impact much of her family and the challenges that arose. As a result, she made the commitment to pursue healthy living early on in her life. She grew up loving sports and staying active. She took this passion and became a USA Weightlifting Coach and CrossFit Trainer where she would teach athletes how to move safely and effectively to reach their goals.
Dr. Kayla is committed to using Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine to promote longevity and increase quality of life in her patients. She educates and includes her patients in their own healing process. She seeks to promote whole body health through daily lifestyle habits rooted in holistic medicine. She is passionate about walking along with her patients to reach their goals.
When not treating patients, Dr. Kayla enjoys getting sunlight, rollerblading or walking her dog. One would say she has a houseplant obsession (she names each of her plants). She loves creating new recipes and cooking.
She is looking forward to beginning this process with you.
